AQUEOUS FILM FORMING FOAM (AFFF)

Somya Pyrotek Services provide premium-grade Aqueous Film Forming Foam concentrates that are suitable for putting out non-polar hydrocarbon fuel fires. Most kinds of proportioning and discharge equipment can be used with FILM PLUS.

Because Aqueous Film Forming Foam (AFFF) concentrate creates a thin aqueous film that helps to stop fuel vapours from escaping, it is intended to put out fires quickly. The foam blanket puts out the fire and keeps it from starting again because it drains the film-forming liquid and separates oxygen from the fuel surface. The foam’s water content gives it a cooling effect.

Hydrocarbon and fluorocarbon surfactants combined with different solvents and preservatives make up AFFF’s composition. It creates a fast-moving vapour-sealing layer on the fuel surface that puts out fires instantly. AFFF comes in 3% and 6% differences. While the 6% AFFF works well on Class B fires, which involve flammable liquids and gases, the 3% AFFF is appropriate for Class A fires, which involve common combustible materials like wood, paper, and cardboard. The concentration of the fluorocarbon surfactant, which controls how successfully the extinguisher puts out the fire, is what separates the two.
